A Memorial Service for Harold Kemp will be held on Tuesday, February 19th at 12:00 in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St, Adams.

 

Harold K. Kemp, 87, of Adams, a longtime resident of Savoy, died on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was born in Adams on June 3, 1931, son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Sherman) Kemp. He attended Savoy Elementary School and graduated from the former Adams High School.

Mr. Kemp was a self-employed lumberjack for many years, and then went to work for Jay Healy in Charlemont until his retirement. He was a former member of the Savoy Fire Department and the Savoy Softball League. He was a former Savoy town selectman and assessor. He enjoyed calling square dances with his former band “The Brier Boys”, making his maple syrup and was an avid hunter.

His wife, the former Sybil Gould, whom he married on February 22, 1952, died on December 4, 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Poirot and her husband Richard of Adams; three grandchildren, Jeremy Tetreault and his wife Kori, Leah Tetreault and her fiancé Christian Carnes and Angela Tetreault; and by two great grandchildren, Gavin and Trey Tetreault.

Burial will be in the spring in Spruce Corner Cemetery.
